Earth, surf inspired interiors, spring and April. I have spent more time than ever before working creatively painting.
These most recent paintings embody my relationship with the Ocean, the Earth and the wild,
Mother Earth being the biggest influence in these works, I've always lived in a deep rooted connection with nature and I feel like these new works launching in April bring the viewer closer to nature than ever before,
I use local seawater in my work integrating energy from the ocean into my paintings. I can taste the salty air, feel the damp moss, hear the sea washing over the pebbles by the river all when I look into this painting.
My intention in these works are to reconnect a single moment in nature the viewer once had.
The biggest question of all is, what do you feel when you see these works? I feel a slow shifting glacier in the land of ice and fire - Iceland. Black earth, green moss, snow capped mountains and glacier misty grey rivers washing back into the sea returning to home.
If I can reconnect those distant from nature once again, I have done what I intended through my creative work.
