For two years consecutively, I spent one month in Hawaii. Never so in touch with the Earth and its energy I felt, until I hiked the volcanic Islands in the Pacific Ocean. These islands, Oahu, Maui and Kauai, all created from the centre of the Earth, have made an enormous impact on my practice and my internal thoughts.

To feel at home for me, is to be outside. In the heat. The warm, wet air. Amongst what I regard to be the only truth. Nature. Because, we as humans, have lost our Way. To find the Way, we must return to our own roots. Cancel out the noise and try to remember.

They say "We were born in the trees, but we have forgotten that." Translating a lost language of the Earth through intuition, guided and nutured by nature, is a part of my every day, back in the studio. Recording all the lessons I learnt on this journey across Hawaii, to remember what has been forgotten and remind others.

Learning from the flora, fauna, the history of the land. Respecting the volcanic activity deep below that chooses to take back the land when Pele decides - the Goddess of fire and volcanos. While on the road, I photographed on Polaroid captured moments in time, feelings and thoughts.

This is the Island of Oahu. Having spent so much time on these islands, they have become a second home. A place we will continue to return.

A familiarity now, before unknown. I often return to moments in the quiet mountains at Manoa, down by the river, observing a hundred river shrines stacked by individuals. A  place of solitude with nothing but time and time was finally our friend. Hawaii, until we meet again. Aloha.
