This is the Nana to-hayfever-smoothie. Every year I suffer like crazy! Just recently I was investigating natural ways to combat hayfever. I read that if you have some of your local honey everyday, it will ease your allergies. This has worked - so much so, that I am totally hayfever free. This natural remedy is much better than any pill, eye drops or sprays I have had. Most of which are nasty chemicals.
You will need to buy some local honey - remember your honey must be local in order for this to work.
Drink this a month before you start to feel the effects of Hayfever. This recipe I came up with, is a delicious healthy brunch smoothie to wave hayfever away. Here is what you need:
Half a Banana
A dash of Coconut Milk
3 Tablespoons of Natural Greek Yogurt
Soaked Chia seeds 1 tablespoon
A tablespoon of your Local honey
6 Red grapes - optional
A teaspoon of Organic Cranberry powder for colour - optional
A good hearty spoonful of some desiccated Coconut
(I can't eat any chocolate due to migraines so this is like eating white chocolate to me!).
Put the soaked chia seeds into the bottom of your jar or bowl.
Add the banana, yoghurt, local honey, strawberries, cranberry powder, milk, grapes and desiccated coconut into a blender.
Blend smoothly as you don't want any lumps. Add this to your jar of chia seeds and top off with more desiccated coconut to finish. Drizzle extra honey if you prefer.
So tasty and it's does good for your bod too.
