B Y A W I L D R O S E . . . .
I found myself amongst old friends and new ones this weekend. Life gets so busy but I am truly blessed where I live to be spoilt by a stunning coastline. We sailed across to a little island and with our supplies on Friday for some wild camping for two nights. The rain avoided us three times and we ate and drank a good food and finished the evening with toasted mallows over the campfire. All six of us mesmerised by the fire, I found myself staring endlessly into its warm autumnal burning embers under the clear starry night sky.
Unbelievably, I stumbled upon eight handmade tribal staffs which we circled around our campfire decorated with wood pigeon feathers. We exchanged stories about life, work, books and one of my favourite topics - travel. Tucking up with a warm sleeping bag and the best of the best company, my hubby to be, I woke up to sunrise, birdsong, fresh air and a smile on my face.
Dishing out the grub and below sunset before twilight.
That fire ......
