J o u r n a l
B Y A W I L D R O S E . . . .
Location: Biarritz, France
Duration: 5 days, July
Temp: 25 degrees
Stay: Air BnB
Hot spots: Hossegor, Plage, Barque, Bisque
Breakfast: Bali Bowls (a corner shop, no seating/street food) a fruit smoothie all the way from Bali and one of the best Açai Bowls I have ever had. Don't miss this.
Milwaukee Cafè Biarritz: (large cafè with outside seating) Coconut and Orange Tea, follow by an Açai Power Bowl (in a jar with walnuts) Bright pink cluttered and busy interiors - you can't miss it.
Lunch: Olea Mediterranean Cuisine Vegan Cafè (next door to Milwaukee Cafè) / Biarritz natural fresh food prepared before you, whilst you wait. Great vegetarian and vegan options. Clean, modern interiors, a small space with limited seating.
Smoothies Hossegor: The Green Cantine (healthy smoothies and takeaway packed lunch meals) A beautiful bamboo, white and wicker interior with the best smoothies, Try the Mango, Orange and Chia on the go.
Dinner: The Beach House is an interiors designers dream space. Think tropical, modern beach styling. With an outside seating area, palm trees, banana leaves, cocktails out of this world and the best food in France. You can't miss this restaurant in Anglet car park. Look for the light up sign hanging in the sky. Billabong just held a party here. It's the place to be. Prepare to snap some pictures in this beautiful space. Order the Malaysian chicken with white rice. Unbelievably good.
Beaches: Anglet Beaches famous for surf and at low tides check out the caves.
Dont miss: Hossegor and the outlet shops and snap up a bargain and enjoy the annual Surf Film Festival on the promenade. Discover the the enormous Roxy HQ and store next to the the skate park. Watch gromits rip it up and question your ability on a board.....
Feels like: Surf chic, discover a world of fashion that meets surfing. It you are not a surfer you are probably in the wrong place. Wear you most stylish, trashy surf wardrobe, rent a van, grab a board and take some dollar for those outlet stores.
Design: Lacking in art supply shops, the culture, the surf shops, the beaches are the inspiration. The atmosphere and the feeling. The combination of the most stylish surf shops around and fashionable boutique finds.

My bedroom moodboard - inspired by simple clean design. Accented with dark cacti and creamy beige pottery, as well as my own textured wall work (top right) this palette breathes light with a Balinese twist. The white mesh curtains are already up, the pottery has been bought and I have my eyes on a hessian wicker rug...... stay tuned for a look at the finish room when it's done in the next coming months!
