B Y A W I L D R O S E . . . .
I am utterly in love with collecting crystals. For spiritual and healing purposes as well as the fact that gazing at them is like looking directly at magic. I plan to archive some of my crystals and to share the beauty of them with you. This beautiful specimen is called Mica or Muscovite. It you don't know how to charge or cleanse your crystals I will post a simple 'how to' for those of you getting into crystals. For now though let me introduce you to my first crystal collection here.
Mica is a stunning mineral mostly silverly and yellow in colour and reminiscent of mother of pearl. This mineral helps you to remove your bad characteristics and be more flexible in intellectual situations. It enhances clarity in your visions and is good for healthy hair and eyes, reducing hunger and dehydration. A bedside mineral, its origins are Madagascar, Brazil and the USA.
Everything and everyone has a natural frequency and carries energy. Crystals and minerals hold an energy. You can harness this energy through mediation. All it takes it to be mindful and sit with your crystal to tap into that energy. Sit with a crystal just for five minutes if you wish. Carry it in your pocket, wear it as a necklace. Let it come in contact with your skin. Spend time near a crystal or mineral that holds properties that you are in need of.
Now what I am discussing is not for everyone. But that's ok! From my perspective, I feel something when I sit with my crystals and when I hold them. I feel a deeper connection rooted with the Earth. I am in awe at this incredible piece of magic that I hold in my hands. Let me explain.
If you held a fossil of a fish, you would see the bones of the fish that lived a life. It lived and died. It then sank to the bottom of the ocean when it passed away. Then was memorised in stone over millions of years. It carries a history. It carries a story. And one day, you stood on the beach, looked between your feet and there it was - a little fossil that you can now hold in your hands. People value fossils because they see its history clearly. I value crystals and minerals in the same way, even though there are no bones to see.
Scientifically, three things determine the nature and look of a crystal. Temperature, time and pressure. Some crystals and minerals take perhaps millions of years to be created. Not only are they stunning but they are the Earth's history. I believe, that when a crystal is formed, it harnesses the energy of the Earth. It harnesses time.
We can share this energy by sitting with the crystals or having them in contact with our skin. That's just me. Magic is real. It only takes one glance to believe that when something like this exists. Maybe crystals are the Earth's memories. I would love to know your favourite crystals. Please comment below!
Sometimes there are moments that are so pivotal in life, they can change everything. A slight tremor and one path falls away. When the dust settles, it's ok. You find your feet and you are left with some stones from your previous path. They are strong stones and you know you can begin to build a new path with the old ones. These stones will carry you. You don't know the direction it will take you, but you know your roots. You can't climb a mountain in a day - it starts with the first step. So you take the first stone and set it down. It's time to build a new path.
With the New Moon in Libra, I have learnt that it is time to plant seeds for the future and this is now very clear. A New Moon means a new beginning.
Mother Nature always brings me back down to Earth. We are so bombarded with information everyday. Thoughts can become cloudy. I find myself ignoring the messages from my body and only acknowledging the requests of my mind. Our wants override our needs. We are molded to believe we need the latest this and that. We are told we need these things or we will be left behind.
If you were told to bring 5 objects to a new world to live on an island just discovered, the first thing you would grab probably wouldn't be your phone. I would bring pieces of me, personal objects, memories of home. Notebooks and sketchbooks. Scale back what you think you need, that is actually a want and consider what you really need.
Try to return to your roots and remember what's really important. Remember why you started and try not to go off on the stray path. Don't get lost in the dust of the desert. Journey into the core of you. I experience so much in a day. I am always swiping, scrolling, reading, listening. We have so much information coming at us everyday that it is down to us to know when to rest. Separate yourself from the noise. Reflect on what you already have and don't be tricked by the 'wants' in your life. Turn off the radio, switch off your phone. Silence the noise and tune into you.
Be mindful everyday, even if it's for just one minute. Rest and B R E A T H E. If you are reading this, please comment below on how you are mindful and what you are grateful for. Practice two mindful moments with me this month. For now enjoy Mother Nature at her finest..... mindfulness and meditation posts due soon 🙏🏽
Drop your banana into the blender too and add half a teaspoon of cranberry powder if you have it. Blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl and top it off with your desiccated coconut, chia seeds, lime, honey or anything else that you desire. Eat whilst chilled and enjoy Acaì power.
