READ FIRST if you will, BEFORE watching.....
The more time I spend slowing down Hawaii, the more I become wise to what’s really important to me. Sometimes, its like people have a filter over their faces in reality and they can’t see the view right in front of them. You see people at these amazing places desperate to get the perfect ‘shot’. The best selfie. Paying so much attention to the temporary, they miss the present moment. They miss the view. I love photography, I love art.
I enjoy capturing a moment with my camera but I love making real memories that aren’t temporary, sharing real moments with people that matter. At a beautiful waterfall I watched a group of people jump in, swim where you were not allowed, have someone record there time in the water. They came, they swam, they left. Took no time to absorb the beauty of the falls. Many where trying to take photos of the fall, but couldn’t because this group were in the water.
They missed the moment and bacteria in the water meant that they weren’t supposed to swim anyway. You look around and a lot of people are on their phones at dinner, by the beach. Remember your roots. Remember what’s important. For me that’s making real memories, precious time with my husband, my family, my dog and Art. Don’t forget to be here now and what’s important.
What are your thoughts? I would love to know.
