THE CRAFT - MY CREATIVE PROCESS AND SPIRITUAL JOURNEY | BEHIND THE SCENES WITH EARTH ARTIST AND SPIRITUAL MUSE ROSE EADS

The practice of all creation starts with my first conscious rising breath in the morning. I ask myself every single day, "what do I want my life to look like in 30-40 years?" I know, how we spend our days, is how we live our lives. I dive into inspiration with reflection. I draw one Earth Oracle card breathing intention when reading what I want from that moment in the morning.

I ask for direction, clarity, creation and reflection.

Like a moth to a flame, I am drawn to water and nature. It regulates and resets my nervous system and creation begins here. 

I look for the strange and quiet. The eyes in the trees, the elder trees hosts to lichen and moss. I always try to find the oldest tree. A watering hole, lily pads and seek solitude in nature. 

In these moments, I reflect on the lessons I learnt from my reading at the start of my day.

Photography is a part of my practice, capturing the organic network of roots from the bottom of a tree, to the sparkle on the horizon of the water.  All these memories return with me to my earth altar and studio where I then sit to allow my visions to surface. 

Spiritual ceremony is part of my craft.

Lighting candles, eucalyptus and palo santo in hand, I open the ceremony with one chimes and three tibetian singing bowl rings. I play music and open the bottle of jurassic rainwater I paint with. 

Somewhere at my earth altar between the music ending and the incense burning out visions surface. One after another. Sometimes unplanned.

To stop what I do would be impossible. To change direction and style is unthinkable. To share these visions is what I must do. I can do nothing else but be true to my creative mindseye. I have painted over a hundred sacred circles. I will continue to do so as I am called to. I see no end point to these creations. Never have I felt such a way about my creations before. I am aligned with the creation of these Eyes of The Earth.

Inspired by the rocks and ammonites at my altar, the glimmering crystals, the coral branches and driftwood wands, the stretching limbs of my staghorn ferns, the lessons of every moment I have lived, and above all, my greatest teacher Mother Earth, this is my craft. This is my creative calling. These are my visions. Thank you for being here, sharing my cosmos and being in this sacred space.
